Did you ever need to sign a PDF document, like that registration or application form that you needed to complete online? In the past, you probably had to print the form, fill and sign it, and either scan it or send a hard copy to wherever it needed to go. Besides needing a printer and a scanner, the whole process was just too time consuming. Now there is a far easier way to sign forms, contracts or applications. You can simply use PDFfiller’s online PDF signer. To get started, upload a PDF document to your account, open it in the editor, and click the Sign button in the main toolbar.

This will open the Signature Wizard that allows you to type, draw, upload, capture a signature with a webcam, or sign the document on a mobile device.

To type a signature, click the T icon and type your name. Click Save and Use to use the signature immediately or Save to use it later. In both cases, the signature will be saved in the Signature Wizard.

Click where you need to place the signature. Use the mini toolbar to resize the signature or change its position.

To draw a signature, click the fountain pen icon and use your mouse or trackpad to draw your signature by clicking and dragging. You can also change the color and thickness of the signature.

Place and save the signature exactly where you want it to appear.



To sign with your finger, click on mobile device and enter your phone number or email address. Open the link you receive via text message or email on your phone, and follow the instructions to sign with your finger. To capture a signature, click the webcam icon and allow PDFfiller access to your camera. Then simply sign a piece of paper and hold it up to the camera, so the signature fits inside the blue box. You can then choose to make adjustments to the scan, or use the signature as-is.

To upload a signature, click the arrow icon and navigate to an image of your signature on your computer. Just like with capture, you can then choose to use the signature as-is, or make changes. Available edits include crop, brightness, contrast, flip, rotate, and auto-adjust. PDFfiller can verify your signature with a stamp showing the date when you signed the document. To show the stamp, just click its icon.

You can create as many signatures as you like and save them in the wizard. Your signatures will automatically appear in the Signature Wizard, ready to be used any time you need to sign a document.   4. To add a date to your PDF, click the 'Date' button in the 'Edit' tab and move the date to the desired location.
  5. When you're done with signing, click the 'Done' button and email, print or save your document.

  6. To get your documents signed and obtain third party signatures, click the 'SendToSign' button and email your documents with signature request.

What is PDFfiller?

PDFfiller is an online PDF tool which allows you to fill and sign any PDF file from any device anytime. With PDFfiller, you can also search for, edit and e-sign PDF documents online without downloading and installing any software.

How to sign a document with PDF signer?

To sign with PDF signer, upload your form to PDFfiller’s online editor. Click the ‘Signature' button in the 'Edit' tab and sign your PDF by drawing, typing or uploading signatures. Select and insert the signature to the desired location.

Can I fill in and sign a document online?

Of course you can. Upload your document to PDFfiller’s online editor. Choose the ‘Text’ button in the ‘Edit’ tab and start typing. You can fill the text anywhere in the document by moving the text box. Click the Signature' button in the 'Edit' tab and sign your PDF by drawing, typing or uploading signatures. Select and insert the signature to the desired location.

How to get my document signed electronically?

To get your permit signed online, upload your document to PDFfiller’s online editor. Edit your document using PDFfiller’s various tools and features. Click the ‘Done’ button after you’re done with editing.
Select the ‘SendToSign’ button from the choice menu and select your delivery method. You can create a ‘SendToSign’ request by adding recipients.
We’ll send your recipients an email with a direct link to the document, and a copy will appear in current PDFfiller users’ Signature Requested folder. A PDFfiller account is required to access the document, and we’ll create and include login credentials to a free account for recipients that do not already have one. Recipients will be able to sign and return the document for free with PDFfiller.

Is my digital signature legal?

Yes! The Electronic Signature in Global and National Commerce Act (E-Sign Act) signed into law June, 2000, provides validity for the electronic records and signatures in conducting interstate and foreign commerce. Therefore, your electronic signature is legal when filling and signing any document using PDFfiller online. Read more about the E-Sign Act.
